Fletcher Allen offers the full range of breast imaging options including mammograms, breast ultrasounds, breast MRIs and biopsies. Named a Breast Imaging Center of Excellence by the American College of Radiology, we offer our patients specialized expertise and meet or exceed rigorous standards of breast imaging care.

Our University of Vermont Medical Group breast imaging specialists are radiologists specially trained in this body imaging sub-specialty. You’ll also be cared for by experienced mammography technologists and medical assistants, who know how to make patients as comfortable as possible while getting a precise image for our radiologists and your physician to review.

At Fletcher Allen, we perform a high volume of mammograms - more than 25,000 a year - on state-of-the-art digital equipment. This leads to better detection and more accurate findings for patients, as studies have shown the more mammograms a radiologist reads, the more accurate the results. Are You Due for a Mammogram? Who Needs One?

If you are a woman age 40 or older and in good health, the American Cancer Society recommends you have a mammogram every year. Mammograms and Breast Imaging at Three Convenient Locations

Fletcher Allen offers radiology, mammograms, and breast imaging services at three locations in Vermont: the UHC Campus and the main hospital (Medical Center Campus) in Burlington and the Fanny Allen Campus in Colchester. Both UHC and Fanny Allen campuses offer evening hours and convenient parking.

NOTE: Screening mammograms are for patients without symptoms such as breast tenderness, discharge, swelling or new lumps. If you have symptoms, please contact your primary care provider.
