Outpatient Medical Nutrition Therapy

Fletcher Allen offers medical nutrition therapy that includes comprehensive evaluation and focused education, used to treat nutrition problems that are diagnosed by a physician.

Services Include:

• Review of personal eating habits and food preferences.
• Assessment of how these eating habits affect specific health concerns.
• Written and verbal instructions on improving eating habits to meet personal nutrition goals or a physician's diet prescription.
• Practical tips and educational materials for assistance with food shopping and preparation, eating in restaurants, and changing dietary habits conveniently.

To schedule an appointment, please call (802) 847-3640, Monday-Friday from 8:00 - 4:00 p.m.  All appointments must be scheduled in advance.

For an individual appointment, a physician referral is required by billing insurance carriers -- providing that Medical Nutrition Therapy is a covered benefit in the plan.

Please check your plan for coverage. Medicare will cover Medical Nutrition Therapy for diabetes and renal disease only.
