Fletcher Allen offers medical nutrition therapy that includes comprehensive evaluation and
focused education, used to treat nutrition problems that are diagnosed
by a physician.
Service Includes:
- Review of personal eating habits and food preferences.
- Assessment of how these eating habits affect specific health concerns.
- Written and verbal instructions on improving eating habits to meet personal nutrition goals or a physician's diet prescription.
- Practical tips and educational materials for assistance with food shopping and preparation, eating in restaurants, and changing dietary habits conveniently.

For an individual appointment, a physician referral is required by billing insurance carriers -- providing that Medical Nutrition Therapy is a covered benefit in the plan.
