Breast Reconstruction

Breast reconstruction is often considered a crucial part of the recovery process for women who have had a mastectomy. It is a surgical procedure that aims to restore your breasts close to normal shape, size and appearance.

There are different types of breast reconstruction procedures. These include:

  • Breast reconstruction with implants – This procedure uses breast implants -- silicone shells filled with silicone or salt water -- to reshape your breasts.
  • Breast reconstruction with flap surgery – This procedure uses a section of tissue from another part of your body and relocates it to your chest to reshape your breast.
