Referral Information
PLASTIC, RECONSTRUCTIVE AND COSMETIC SURGERY
Staffed by board-certified plastic surgeons and two physician assistants, this section focuses on defects in the surface of the body. Specific interests include congenital craniofacial abnormalities, cutaneous malignancies, post-traumatic or post-surgical deformities causing aesthetic or functional disability, surgery of the hand, cosmetic surgery of the face and body, problems of localized wound healing, breast reconstruction and microvascular surgery.
This section founded and directs the Vermont State Craniofacial/Cleft Palate Clinic. Here, early consultation with parents of the clefted or otherwise deformed child is designed to help allay fears about long-term problems related to the deformity. Cosmetic and ablative laser procedures
(i.e. telangiectasias, tattoos, and skin wrinkles) are performed in conjunction with the Fletcher Allen Vermont Laser Center.
