The Division of General Surgery at Fletcher Allen is dedicated to excellence in the management of surgical problems, with particular emphasis on gastrointestinal tract disease. A full spectrum of non-operative, endoscopic and surgical treatments are available to provide for a comprehensive diagnostic and treatment plan. Furthermore, our Division is intensely interested in teaching these technologies and approaches to the physicians of tomorrow. Multiple research efforts are underway to evaluate cutting-edge treatments and investigate new concepts in the management of gastrointestinal disease. Subspecialties include:
