Fletcher Allen, a Vermont university hospital and medical center, serves all of
Vermont and the northern New York region. Located in Burlington, Fletcher Allen is a regional, academic healthcare center and teaching hospital in alliance with the University of Vermont.
Research
The Fletcher Allen Department of Radiology is currently participating in numerous clinical research protocols. The majority of theses studies are written and conducted by attending faculty in the department with help from residents and medical students. Current areas of interest include imaging of vascular disease such as the carotid and renal arteries and iliac vessels.
Other studies aid investigators in following cancer lesions to see if a patient is responding to a novel drug newly on the market. New diagnostic imaging machines are also being developed to aid in the early diagnosis of breast cancer, low bone density and lymphedema.
Radiology works with many departments in the Fletcher Allen/UVM system to carry out cutting-edge research including the Vermont Cancer Center, The Clinical Research Center, and Vascular Surgery. For more information on ongoing clinical trials please contact:
