A Resource for Patients & Families – Patient Service Centers at Fletcher Allen Health Care
When a health care provider tells you or a family member it is necessary to have a laboratory test, you may have a sample collected in the office or you may be asked to come to Fletcher Allen to have the sample collected. Fletcher Allen laboratory operates an extensive courier network throughout the state of Vermont and into New York to pick up samples from area offices and other Hospitals.
We also have several conveniently located Patient Service Centers where you can come to have your sample collected by an experienced certified phlebotomist.
Fletcher Allen's clinical laboratory does more than 2.5 million tests a year, including more than 30,000 surgical cases. The laboratory offers clinical consultation from board-certified and subspecialized pathologists in all major subspecialties of pathology.

Fletcher Allen Laboratory is a member of the Northeast Community Laboratory Alliance (NECLA), a regional affiliation comprised of all of the hospitals in Vermont.. Through a coordinated delivery system, NECLA is designed to support local and regional health care providers while supporting each hospital member’s outreach activities without limiting their primary loyalty to their hospital and its alliances. NECLA was formed in 1996 and is partnered with Mayo Medical Laboratories.
In addition to serving as Fletcher Allen's laboratory, the department also serves as a reference and consultative service for many hospitals in the North East.
