Fletcher Allen is the primary provider of care for most patients with renal diseases in Vermont and for many patients in upstate New York.
Our Nephrology service provides renal replacement therapies for patients with end-stage renal disease including hemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis and continuous renal replacement therapies in the intensive care unit.
Here, we have an experienced staff committed to training patients for a variety of home dialysis therapies. In conjunction with the Department of Surgery, the Nephrology service provides support for kidney transplantation and for kidney/pancreas transplantation.
In addition to patients with primary renal diseases, Fletcher Allen serves patients with complicated hypertension. Faculty provide both inpatient and outpatient consultation.
