Fletcher Allen's Infectious Disease program provides inpatient infectious disease consultations, patient care in the outpatient clinic as well as in the travel clinic.
Our Team
The program is staffed by full time board-certified physicians, nurses, nurse practitioners, dietician, social workers, support staff, clinical research coordinators and infection control practitioners. In addition to the clinical duties at Fletcher Allen, the staff is dedicated to teaching and research in their academic roles at the University of Vermont College of Medicine.
The unit has close working relationships with the Department of Microbiology and Molecular Genetics and the Vermont Department of Health.
HIV/AIDS Care
Providing care for those living with HIV/AIDS is a strong focus of the staff. They coordinate four HIV/AIDS specialty clinics (Comprehensive Care Clinics) throughout Vermont, supported by Ryan White CARE Act funding.
