The Adult Reconstructive Surgery Center is a unique resource for people with joint disorders in New England and northern New York.
Conditions
Our services include evaluation, consultation, diagnosis, and treatment of the following:
- Osteoarthritis
- Rheumatoid arthritis
- Traumatic arthritis
- Avascular necrosis
Physicians have extensive experience in primary and revision total joint replacement surgery:
- Knee
- Hip
- Shoulder
- Elbow
Treatment
After a comprehensive evaluation, treatment alternatives are thoroughly discussed with each patient. The patient and physician will consider:
- Exercise and physical therapy
- Intra-articular injections
- Steroids, hyaluronan (Synvisc)
- Arthritic medications
- Surgical management including: arthroscopy, osteotomy, joint replacement
Our Staff
The physician staff are board certified orthopaedic surgeons and have additional specialty training in adult reconstructive surgery. Physicians are University of Vermont (UVM) faculty members and are involved in research and in the education of UVM College of Medicine students and orthopaedic surgery residents. Nurses and support staff coordinate patient care.

- Please bring any records or diagnostic studies such as X-rays, CT scans, or MRI's. This will assist the physician in developing a comprehensive plan of care for the patient.
- Physical therapy appointments if needed are generally arranged after the initial evaluation.
- Please note that financial coverage for evaluation and treatment are subject to the conditions of your particular insurance policy. Patients who have managed care plans must have a referral authorization form their primary care provider for appointment scheduling.
