Fletcher Allen Coordinated Transport (FACT)
Fletcher Allen's highly specialized critical care transport service serves patients who require transfer to Fletcher Allen for advanced care from hospitals located throughout our service area of Vermont and northern New York.
This service, known as Fletcher Allen Coordinated Transport (FACT), includes a fleet of specially equipped ambulances and skilled personnel. This service is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Nearly 10,000 patients have been cared for by this service since its inception in June of 1995. FACT has three staffed ambulances available, including one housed at Fletcher Allen affiliate hospital, Alice Hyde Medical Center in Malone N.Y.
The staff include critical care nurses, paramedics and intermediate-level Emergency Medical Technicians. Emergency Department physicians at Fletcher Allen provide medical direction for the team. When transporting children, the team is guided by a physician in the pediatric intensive care unit.
