More than $208,000 for Vermont Children’s Hospital!

"I know why Vermont Children's Hospital is so important. It's so great to raise money that I know will help other kids like me to also have a great time while they are there." - Tony Granger, 2011 Vermont Children’s Miracle Network Champion and Vermont Children's Hospital patient

Over the past few months thousands of people from the Champlain Valley area came together for the Big Change Roundup for Kids for Vermont Children’s Hospital to serve as Change Bandits by collecting spare change and raising money online. The Pete's RV Coach for Kids and the Morning Roundup Crew from WOKO visited a number of participating schools and businesses during this time. Culminating with a four-day event in March, Change Bandits, schools, Boy Scouts, and passers-by brought their change to area Walmart stores and Fletcher Allen for the WOKO Broadcast weekend. The show of support was overwhelming as each Change Bandit was celebrated while their change was counted in the New England Federal Credit Union (NEFCU) Counting Corral – from children emptying their piggy banks for $8.52 to corporate partners NEFCU and Maplefields, to Fletcher Allen employees wearing denim and hosting baking sales, it was truly a remarkable and record breaking year.

Money raised from the Big Change Roundup will benefit the patients and families served by Vermont Children’s Hospital in many ways including providing funds for specialized equipment, child life specialists and continuing to support family-centered care.

Together, we will all make a difference, one dime at a time.

Special thanks to area businesses partnering with us this year:
