Dr. Paul Taheri, President of the UVM Medical Group
Dr. Taheri joined Fletcher Allen in March 2007 as President of the UVM Medical Group, and Senior Associate Dean for Clinical Affairs at the University of Vermont, College of Medicine. He is a practicing general/trauma surgeon. As the practice president of the UVM Medical Group, he has responsibility for the finances and operations of the 500-member group with over $200 million in annual clinical revenue.
In his role as Associate Dean for Academic Business Development at UVM's School of Medicine, one of his primary responsibilities was to develop a comprehensive 10-day leadership development course for physicians, nurses, and administrators. He was also responsible for the oversight of technology transfer and intellectual property management at UVM, a role that involved working with the University and physicians to help develop policies that fostered entrepreneurial activities between the business community and the faculty. Dr. Taheri received his medical degree from New York University and his MBA from the University of Michigan School of Business.
Abigail Trutor, Program Director
In her role as Program Director of the Center, Ms. Trutor has refined the Core Program based on evaluation results and feedback and is currently building the Center’s Advanced Program, which will further explore leadership competencies learned in the Core. She has also built a steady and valuable innovation arm that promotes collaboration between business schools and Fletcher Allen physicians and administrators to provide recommendations and insight into best practices in the administrative aspects of rural health delivery.
Ms. Trutor also has the opportunity to work on internal innovation projects and has contributed to the MICU scheduling study and is currently conducting a time-motion study in General Dermatology. Ms. Trutor received her MBA from both McGill University and the University of Vermont and holds a Bachelor of Science from New York University’s Stern School of Business. Before her role at Fletcher Allen, Ms. Trutor was a bond analyst in New York City for eight years as well as a business fellow for the Vermont Center for Emerging Technologies.
