Preserving the passion for learning by sponsoring quality educational activities is the goal of Continuing Medical Education at the University of Vermont College of Medicine and Fletcher Allen. Our programs provide opportunities for physicians to master what is new, gain fresh insight into the diagnosis and management of common clinical conditions, and share successes and challenges with their colleagues. We offer a full series of medical courses each year, ranging from half-day seminars for regional physicians to week-long national conferences and international scientific symposia.
The University of Vermont is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to sponsor continuing medical education for physicians. AMA Category I credit is awarded on an hour-for-hour basis with one hour of participation earning one hour of credit. Every effort is made to ensure that specialty society accreditation is also obtained for appropriate programs so that physicians attending these courses may earn the credit most useful to them in fulfilling their continuing medical education requirements.
