Alan Irwin, MD, Honored with Tribute Bench
The Division Ophthalmology recently commemorated Dr. Alan Irwin’s exceptional life work with a Tribute bench, located in front of the main entrance to the Ambulatory Care Center.
Over 50 people, including the entire Division of Ophthalmology, Irwin family members, senior leaders and staff, attended.
Norm Ward, MD, Named President of the Vermont Medical Society
Norman Ward, MD, has been named president of the Vermont Medical Society (VMS). Dr. Ward, medical director of Case Management at Fletcher Allen, and a physician at South Burlington Family Practice, is associate professor of at the University of Vermont College of Medicine.
The Vermont Medical Society is dedicated to advancing the practice of medicine by advocating on behalf of Vermont’s doctors.
Church Hindes Named VP of Vermont Managed Care
J. Churchill Hindes, PhD, has been named Vice President of Accountable Care for Vermont Managed Care. Hindes has many years of experience in Vermont’s health care scene, as a former Fletcher Allen executive and former CEO and President of the Visiting Nurses Association of Chittenden and Grand Isle Counties.
He is also Clinical Associate Professor of Medicine at the UVM College of Medicine. He received his Bachelor’s degree at Saint Michael’s College and a doctorate in Hospital and Health Administration/Health Policy at the University of Iowa, College of Medicine and Graduate College.
Jason Williams Named Rising Star
At the 102nd Annual Business and Community Awards Dinner for the Lake Champlain Regional Chamber of Commerce, Jason Williams, Government Relations Strategist at Fletcher Allen, received The Rising Star Award, which recognizes an up-and-coming leader whose efforts reflect a strong sense of community.
In addition to serving as Vice-Chair of the Chamber’s Leadership Champlain program, Jason has also served on the Next Generation Commission and Burlington’s Parallel Justice Commission.
