Community Medical School - Cancer and Exercise: Improving Physical Function and Cardiopulmonary Health During and After Treatment

Cancer and cancer therapy can significantly impair physical function and cardiopulmonary health. This decline can occur during cancer therapy and may continue long after therapy is completed. Discuss the impact of the toxicities of cancer therapy on the cardiopulmonary system and how this leads to loss of physical function. Learn how exercise training can diminish these effects, and review a model of oncology rehabilitation used at Fletcher Allen Health Care both during and after cancer treatment.
