Two New Trustees Join Fletcher Allen Board

New Board Chair Named

BURLINGTON, VT – The Fletcher Allen Health Care Board of Trustees accepted the appointments of two new trustees today – Allie Stickney, president and CEO of Wake Robin, and Larry Sudbay, president and CEO of SymQuest Group, Inc.  These four-year appointments were made in December at the annual meeting of the Fletcher Allen Board.

The Board also elected John Powell to be the board chair, succeeding Roger Stone, former president of Burlington-based Stone Investment Advisory, who stepped down at the expiration of his term. Powell has served on the board since 2003. He had over 30 years in the homebuilding industry, and then led a local non-profit housing organization.  He currently is marketing several home sites on the lake.

Allie Stickney

Allie Stickney is president and CEO of Wake Robin, a continuing care retirement community of 335 residents located in Shelburne. Prior to her current position, Stickney had a decades-long career with Planned Parenthood, serving in senior leadership and CEO positions in Vermont, Oregon and New York City. While at Planned Parenthood, she directed the provision of reproductive health care services in rural and urban areas of the United States as well as countries in Asia, Sub-Saharan Africa, and Central and South America.

“Allie’s experience will provide expertise in many areas of interest to our board,” said John Powell, board chair.  “I look forward to her participation.”

Stickney serves on the Board of Directors of the Vermont Stage Company and Local Motion, is the convener of the Vermont Women’s Forum, and serves as the president of Leading Age Vermont, a membership group of senior housing providers in Vermont. She is a graduate of the University of Vermont.

Larry Sudbay

Larry Sudbay is the president & CEO of SymQuest Group, Inc., located in South Burlington. As a co-founder of the company in 1996, Sudbay has been responsible for SymQuest Group’s strategic direction, business growth, and company culture.  Prior to co-founding SymQuest Group, he held positions at McAuliffe Office Systems, MCI Telecommunications, Hewlett Packard and IBM. Sudbay received a Bachelor of Science in Engineering from the University of Vermont in 1979.

“Larry’s strong interest in best practices to improve an organization’s performance will serve him well on this board, said Powell.  “His perspectives will be a valuable addition to the Board.

Sudbay has served on numerous professional and community boards, including the Vermont Business Roundtable.
