BURLINGTON VT – Fletcher Allen is one of 50 health care organizations nationwide to receive a Partners for Change Award from Practice Greenhealth, an organization that seeks to advance environmental excellence in health care.

The Partners for Change Award recognizes organizations for a demonstrated commitment to environmental practices and sustainability. The Award is presented to those organizations that are working to improve and expand upon their programs to eliminate mercury, reduce waste and prevent pollution.

“This award recognizes the hard work of our staff to provide the highest quality health care while minimizing our impact on the environment.” said Angie Marano, chief operating officer.  “I am extremely proud of our efforts to achieve environmental sustainability and thank the many employees who make our success possible.”

Fletcher Allen participates in a number of environmental initiatives including composting, seeking out environmentally-friendly products for use in maintaining and cleaning its facilities, selecting sustainable food choices, and dozens of other initiatives.
