In alliance with the University of Vermont, Fletcher Allen is Vermont’s academic medical center, one of approximately 130 such centers in the country. Our academic affiliation allows us to provide the best patient care possible by bringing research and education to the bedside.

Note: All quality measures presented here are risk-adjusted. Accounting for patient-related attributes, such as age, gender, or pre-existing conditions allows health care measures to be compared as fairly as possible among hospitals that serve different mixes of patients.

Comparing unadjusted rates for different hospitals would unfairly penalize hospitals that perform operations/procedures on high-risk patients.
