Employee Transfer FAQ
When I log in to look at job postings, is it confidential?
Yes. When you look at the job postings online, no one is monitoring your activity.
Do I have to let my current supervisor know if I apply for another job?
Recruitment encourages you to notify your supervisor of your transfer request as soon as possible. At a minimum, HR Policy A-07 requires that you notify your supervisor of your transfer request if you are contacted for an interview. Please beware that the Recruiter and/or the hiring manager may do a reference check with your current supervisor at any time during the application process.
Why do I have to apply for a position in a department where I am already working and the manager knows me?
We like to give equal access to internal candidates, which is why we post all of our vacancies for a minimum of seven days. Someone else in your department may be interested in applying for the position.
Why does my Online Application have to be updated when I am already a Fletcher Allen Health Care employee?
An up-to-date application allows you to market yourself as a candidate in the best way possible, and it enables hiring managers to compare and contrast candidates in an equitable manner.
What happens to my Online Application after it’s submitted?
Basic qualifications for the position:
- At least six months in your current position
- Most recent performance evaluation
- Hours of unscheduled absence less than or equal to your standard authorized hours per pay period during the previous twelve months
- No written corrective actions received within the previous twelve months
The Recruiter may then forward your Online Application to the hiring manager for review. If you are selected for an interview, the Recruiter or hiring manager will contact you.
