Employee wellness has been part of the culture of Fletcher Allen for almost 30 years. Fletcher Allen offers a range of employee wellness programs focusing on health and well-being, including tobacco cessation, mental health services, gym member discounts, and financial incentives to help employees manage their health. Many wellness programs are offered on site at no cost.
Employee Wellness Incentives
Employees receive financial incentives to complete a health assessment, visit their primary doctor and dentist, and to participate in physical activity programs that create a balanced lifestyle.
The Fletcher Allen Stepping Up® Tobacco Cessation Program offers employees a supportive approach to leading a tobacco-free lifestyle. The program includes free nicotine replacement, one-to-one counseling with a tobacco treatment specialist, referral to community group classes and web-based resources to help employees and their household members quit smoking or tobacco use. Support and health coaching are also available for stress reduction, physical activity programs and weight management, which is often a concern for those who are trying to quit smoking. Fletcher Allen supports a tobacco free workplace and encourages its employees to take advantage of this program.
Employee and Family Assistance Program
Fletcher Allen’s Employee and Family Assistance Program (EFAP) provides mental and physical health support services for employees and their families at no cost. We are here to help — our licensed counseling staff can help resolve problems early, before they interfere with home or work life. EFAP services, which are always confidential, include help with accessing counseling, substance abuse treatment and referral, and health coaching.
Fletcher Allen offers employees access to weight management programs, including Weight Watchers at Work and one-to-one coaching with a Wellness health coach. Employees who have specific medical needs are able to access our “Move to Lose” program, a medically-managed weight loss program combining a 16-week support group with physical activity for weight loss success. This approach is designed for people who have medical conditions such as high blood pressure, pre-diabetes mellitus/diabetes mellitus, lower extremity arthritis, sleep apnea, metabolic syndrome, insulin resistance and fatty liver disease.
