Medical Center Campus The Inpatient Psychiatry Unit Built in 2005, the Inpatient Psychiatry Unit is a smoke-free facility comprised of 28 beds distributed on two floors, one locked and one open. The Unit is located in the Shephardson wing of the main hospital on the 3rd and 6th floors. The Psychiatric Consultation Service The Psychiatric Consultation Service is located on Patrick 4 of the hospital and provides consultative and liaison services to the medical wards at Fletcher Allen. University Health Center Campus The Department of Psychiatry is located on the 6th floor along with numerous subspecialty clinics, including the Adult Psychopharmacology Clinic, The MindBody Medicine Clinic, the Clinical Neuroscience Research Unit, the Geriatric Psychiatry Clinic, the Mood and Anxiety Disorders Clinic, and Seneca Center. The Vermont Center for Children, Youth, & Families and Day One are located on the 3rd floor while the Substance Abuse Treatment Center is located on the first floor. All psychiatry clinic spaces were remodeled in 2007 to provide contemporary, comfortable areas for patient-centered care. The Department of Psychiatry also staffs an acute care unit at the Vermont State Hospital (VSH) in collaboration with the Vermont Department of Mental Health and provides a crisis intervention service in conjunction with the area's community mental health system.
