Professor of Pathology and Biochemistry Biography:Dr Tracy is currently Professor of Pathology and Biochemistry and Senior Associate Dean of Research & Academic Affairs at the University of Vermont College of Medicine, Burlington, USA. Dr Tracy has published over 240 scientific publications and 155 abstracts/presentations. He is currently involved in a number of molecular epidemiological studies including the CHS (Cardiovascular Health Study), Strong Heart Study (Cardiovascular Disease in Native Americans), CARDIA Study (Cardiovascular Risk Factors in Young Adults), IRAS (Insulin Resistance and Atherosclerosis Study), Health ABC (Health and Body Composition in the Elderly), and MESA (Multi-Ethnic Study of Atherosclerosis). He is a member of many national and international societies and serves on the editorial boards of numerous journals including Arteriosclerosis, Thrombosis and Vascular Biology. He is Associate Editor of the Journal of Thrombosis and Thrombolysis. Major Research Interests:Dr. Tracy’s research interests include the interrelationships of coagulation, fibrinolysis and inflammation, and their roles in the etiology of atherosclerosis and coronary heart disease; cardiovascular disease risk prediction; murine models of atherosclerosis; and chronic diseases of old age.
