Exercise Stress Test:

Participating in cardiac rehabilitation usually begins with an entry stress test and an evaluation with our cardiologist and nurse practitioner.  During the stress test, which is typically done on a treadmill or a bike, we will measure your ability to exercise. Your heart rate and blood pressure will be closely monitored through out the test.  The test is stopped when you become tired or can no longer continue.  The cardiologist or nurse practitioner monitoring the test may also stop the test for safety reasons, for example if you have chest pains or an irregular heart beat.  The exercise portion of the test usually takes anywhere from 1 to 15 minutes to complete, depending on how fit you are.  This is a very safe evaluation.

Exercise:

Our exercise program includes stretching, aerobic exercise and weight training.  We offer a wide variety of exercise equipment including treadmills, elliptical trainers, as well as, cycling, rowing and arm machines.  During every exercise session, your heart rate and blood pressure is closely monitored by our staff, which includes a physician, nurse practitioner, nurses, physical therapists and an exercise physiologist.  We will work with you to design an exercise program that meets your goals and objectives and will help to lower your risk for future heart problems.
